Together with Svetlana Gannushkina (Moscow) and in cooperation with the Heinrich-Bцll-Foundation I organized a seminar for the „Working Group for the Release of Prisoners and Hostages and the Tracing of Missing Persons of the Karabakh Conflict“ in Georgia between Armenians and Azerbaijanians. Representatives from Armenian and Azerbaijani NGOs as well as representatives from the governing structures in Armenia and the region of Nagornij Karabakh participated. As it is extremely difficult to organize such meetings in Armenia or Azerbaijan, the meeting took place in neutral Georgia .
As member of a Green Paarty delegation including Helmut Lippelt, I visited Georgia and Abchasia in Mmarch 2001. We spoke with several representatives of the governing structures in Georgia and Abchasia, with representatives of the UN and NGOs.
Together with Svetlana Gannushkina (Memorial, Moscow) I organized a meeting in Tbilisi between high ranking representatives of the Armenian and Azerbaijanian state commissions on missing persons in March 2005. This was the first direct meeting of its kind in the history of the Karabakh conflict. At the end of the meeting the participants published a joint press release.
